He began his first 16 years of full-time pastoral ministry in the Central States Conference in the Atchison, KS, St. Joseph, MO District in 1997. He moved from there to the Kirkwood/Ebenezer (Kirkenezer) District in St. Louis, MO. He has also pastured the New Community SDA Church in Denver, CO; the Bethesda SDA Church in Omaha, NE. From there He was asked to serve as the Assistant to the President for the Eastern Region of the Central States Conference while pastoring the historic Berean SDA Church in St. Louis, MO. Most recently he pastored the New Missionary SDA Church in Kansas City, KS, and Shiloh in Leavenworth, KS District. On August 26, 2013 Pastor Thomas accepted a call to pastor the great Breath of Life SDA Church in Memphis, Tennessee. He was introduced to our church family and warmly excepted to begin his ministry here and on October 5, 2013.
He married the joy of his life, Joy, in 1995 and they have two WONDERFUL children. Joshua(17) who is a junior at Midland Adventist Academy, and Calen (11) who is in the 6th grade at Alcy Jr. Academy.
Pastor Thomas has had the privilege to minister, preach, teach, and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and share the love of God all over this country and abroad. But Duane counts not himself to have apprehended: but this one thing he does, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, he presses toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
